When Emily first approached me to photograph her wedding at Port Lympne Reserve I was really excited! Not only do I have fantastic memories of family day trips there as a child, but as a long-time WWF supporter it was great to work at a safari park which is also a charity raising funds for the animals’ conservation and wellbeing. I couldn’t wait for Emily & John’s day to arrive! Coincidentally I had been at Port Lympne only a few weeks before for a photoshoot to showcase the wedding venue’s incredible interiors; should you wish to take a look, those pictures are HERE.
Emily & John had chosen Emily’s childhood church for their ceremony; the Virgin Mother of Good Counsel Catholic Church in Hythe. This is a beautiful church and the pretty light that filtered through the windows to brighten all of Emily & John’s special touches combined with the warmth and love radiating through the ceremony created a moving and memorable start to their married life together. As we moved on to Port Lympne I couldn’t help but think how fantastic the day had been… Emily has a very creative eye for details and everything looked beautiful but more importantly Emily & John made all of their wedding guests feel great… they are so perfect together and I feel privileged to have been a small part of their day…congratulations again Emily & John xxx
Emily & John had chosen this gorgeous stationery which reflected the natural world of the safari park created by ‘Lucy says I do’
Emily’s sister was on hand for all of the final touches…
Loved this vintage hair piece chosen by Emily, simply stunning! Emily’s sleek hair was by the fantastic fashion stylist Vicki Lord
The floral creations at the Virgin Mother of Good Counsel Catholic Church were just the prettiest!
John was most excited to be waiting for Emily… I loved the vibrant colour of his tie(!) the buttonholes and bouquets were by Angela of Dream of Flowers
A personal favourite : )
“Yesss!! We’re married!!”
And on stand by… ‘the champagne boys’ was how I thought of the team(!) serving the champagne for the guests to enjoy in the church gardens…
Arriving at Port Lympne was just amazing… I simply love this place a little more every time!
One of my favourite things about Port Lympne is that for weddings you really have the best of both worlds, incredible gardens set beside beautiful architecture and of course, fabulous views
A close up shot of the bridal party…
Emily had put so much thought into every aspect of the wedding reception and it was just gorgeous, hessian wedding details set against the vibrant pops of colour in the floral creations amidst soft pastel roses… everything looked beautiful together in the large hall at Port Lympne
As the sun set and the low lamp lights started to twinkle, the gardens looked so beautiful and I loved John’s suggestion for a relaxed portrait here with his groomsmen…
And time for just a few more evening portraits with Emily & John before heading off for the first dance…
… a perfect ending to a perfect day!! Thank you so much Emily & John for sharing your special day xx
